Views of the West Coast Express commuter train in and around the Vancouver, British Columbia area, during the Summer of 2025. The West Coast Express operates on the CPKC's Cascade Subdivision, running 43 miles between Downtown Vancouver (Waterfront Station), and Mission, BC. It's been quite a few years since I've filmed the West Coast Express, and while most things about this rather quiet operation have stayed the same, some things have changed. Majority of their F55PHI fleet has been sent out for overhaul and rebuilding, by Progress Rail in Georgia. The overhauled locomotives sure look sharp, with a fresh coat of paint! A new addition has also been added to the fleet; EMD F59PH 907. This ex-GO Transit locomotive recently ran a few years ago as RBRX/LTEX 18533, on the Metrolink commuter service in Southern California. Very cool to see it still running strong! Also included are some aerial views of Canadian National and CPKC freight trains on the Fraser River bridge, in Mission. All locations listed in video.
